In spite of being one of the top destinations of the South of Morocco, visited by thousands of tourists every year, the Ouzoud waterfalls have kept intact over the years their authentic taste and the charm of an unspoiled nature. After a day of adventure and fun along the hidden paths that run through the forest surrounding these beautiful cascades, we'll move east toward the Middle Atlas to reach the blue crystal water lake Bin El Ouidane, with hiking and mountain biking tours and special ideas for lovers of water sports and carp fishing.

Stages of the trip

Ouzoud Waterfalls - Lake of Bin El Ouidane
Starting from Marrakech, we will move east towards the province of Tadla - Azilal travelling across the suggestive peaks of the central High Atlas. After a two hours journey in 4x4, we’ll discover the amazing scenery of the Ouzoud watefalls, nestled among olive, almond and fig trees. These beautiful natural cascades up to 100 m high, that seem to spring out directly from the red-ocher earth, will be the ideal place for hiking especially in summer months. Upon request, for water sports lovers, Direction Sud proposes also an adventurous day by rafting and canyoning along the rivers Ouzoud and El Abid (trans. the river of slaves), suitable both for beginners, and for more experienced practitioners. On the second day, we’ll cross the rocky mountains and green hills of the High Atlas to reach the crystal clear water of the Bin El Ouidane Lake, fed by the waters of the Oum Rabii river and by the snow of the surrounding mountains. Dotted with a multitude of beautiful small bays (renowned for carp fishing) and numerous islets appearing and disappearing as the water level lowers or raises, the Bin El Ouidane lake is the perfect place for a family holiday or a healthy sport break, with plenty of excellent opportunities for sports and outdoor activities, including kayaking tours and jet sky adventures.
